Indications

Approved Uses

OTC symptomatic relief of gastrointestinal gas (flatulence) including bloating, pressure, fullness, and discomfort; may be used for postoperative gas discomfort.

Off-Label Uses

Adjunct to improve mucosal visualization by reducing foam/bubbles during upper GI endoscopy; may be used to reduce gas artifacts before abdominal imaging (institution/protocol dependent).

Dosage & Administration

Dosing by Condition

Gas/flatulence (chewable tablets): Adults and children ≥12 years: 60-125 mg after meals and at bedtime (up to 4 times daily); maximum daily dose depends on product labeling (commonly not exceeding 500 mg/day for many OTC products).
