Dymista contains 2 active substances: azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate: Azelastine hydrochloride belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. Antihistamines work by preventing the effects of substances such as e.g. Histamine that the body produces as part of an allergic reaction - and thus reduces the symptoms of allergic rhinitis . Fluticasone propionate belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids that reduce inflammation. Dymista is used for symptom relief in moderate to severe seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis if the use of either intranasal antihistamine or corticosteroid alone is not considered sufficient. Seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis are allergic reactions to substances such as pollen (hay fever), house mites, mould, dust or pets. Dymista relieves allergy symptoms such as: runny nose, postnasal drip (mucus in the throat), sneezing and itchy nose or stuffy nose. How To Use: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. It is important to use Dymista regularly to achieve the full therapeutic effect. Contact with the eyes should be avoided. Use of Dymista in adults and adolescents (12 years and older) The recommended dose is 1 spray in each nostril morning and evening. Use of Dymista in children under 12 years of age This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
