Dosage & Administration

Dosing by Condition

Acne vulgaris: apply a thin film to affected area(s) once daily in the evening after washing and drying; initial and maintenance dosing are the same, adjusted only for tolerability.

Initial Dose

Maintenance Dose

Apply a thin film to affected areas once daily in the evening.

Maximum Dose

Apply a thin film once daily (typically at night) to affected areas; no systemic maximum dose is established for topical use.

Children's Dosage

Not approved for children under 12 years; for adolescents 12 years and older: same as adult dosing (once daily topical application)

Dose Adjustment Notes

No renal/hepatic dose adjustment is required due to minimal systemic absorption; if excessive local irritation occurs, reduce frequency (e.g., every other day) or temporarily discontinue until tolerated.

How to Take

Cleanse gently and dry the skin; apply a thin film (e.g., pea-sized amount for the whole face) to the affected area(s) once daily in the evening; avoid eyes, lips, nostrils, and mucous membranes; wash hands after application.

Warnings & Precautions

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, lips, mucous membranes and angles of the nose. Do not apply to cuts/abrasions, eczematous, sunburned, windburned, or otherwise irritated skin. Minimize sun/UV exposure (including sunlamps) and use sunscreen/protective clothing. Expect local irritation early; reduce frequency or discontinue if severe. Avoid waxing/depilatories on treated areas and use caution with other irritating topical products.
