Benefits & Uses

A reversible inhibitor of gastrointestinal lipases, indicated for obesity management, covering weight loss and weight maintenance alongside a reduced-calorie diet, and to reduce the risk of weight regain after prior weight loss. It is indicated for patients with a body mass index of 30 kg/m² or above, or 27 kg/m² or above in the presence of other risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes or dyslipidaemia.

Usage & Dosage

The recommended dose is one 120 mg capsule three times a day with each main meal that contains fat, taken during the meal or up to one hour after it.

Safety & Warnings

Gastrointestinal events may increase when it is taken with a diet high in fat, above 30% of total daily calories. A multivitamin supplement containing fat-soluble vitamins may be needed to ensure adequate nutrition.
