Xcard (Apixaban) is an oral anticoagulant (blood thinner) that belongs to the class of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). It is primarily used to: Prevent blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation (non-valvular) to reduce the risk of stroke. Treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Prevent DVT and PE after hip or knee replacement surgery. How To Use: Dosage: Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider. Common doses are: 5 mg twice daily: Standard dose for most conditions. 5 mg twice daily: For patients with reduced kidney function, low body weight, or advanced age (usually over 80 years). Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Can be taken with or without food. Take at the same times each day to ensure consistent blood levels.
